The Good Life on a Budget

Last week, I made a payment to our second (and final!) car loan, putting it at over 50% paid off! I am so excited to reach one of our December goals already, and we’re going to try and pay a little more to towards this loan before the end of the year.

I freaked myself out with the payment, though. I scheduled the payment on a Sunday for the following Monday. The payment was to be completely processed and applied by Wednesday, which I completely forgot.

On Tuesday, I logged in to check my new balance, and saw… nothing. No change in balance, no payment pending.

So I second guessed myself. I did a lot of financial things on Sunday, and maybe I only thought I had scheduled a payment. Surely the payment would show up by now. Or show in the pending payments. Or something.

I was about to reschedule the payment when I decided to call my lender and ask them if their system showed a pending payment. They told me there was no payment pending in their system either.

Luckily, I checked one more place on the website and finally discovered where it mentioned my pending payment. I felt pretty dumb, but nowhere near as dumb as if I had paid twice as much!
