Debt Update

Well, all our payments have been made for June and here is a little update on where we stand. I am really having a difficult time concentrating on debt payoff now that we no longer have any credit card debt. On one hand, we have dealt with a lot of irregular expenses, including those associated with closing my husband’s old company. On the other hand, we have been bleeding money left and right. Summer has always been spendy for us, mostly because we go out more and naturally spend more money. In the winter, we stay home more and spend less money. I am thinking of instituting a no-spend zone for a couple of weeks to try and break the bad habits. On to the numbers:

Starting (Non-Mortgage) Debt: $216,564.70

Current (Non-Mortgage) Debt: $133,247.61 (down from $134,271.76)

Percentage Paid Off: 35.26% (up from 34.75%)

My goal for July is to pay down our total debt to below $130,000. (Wow, it’s kinda depressing to look at the whole number.) The debt we’re working on is the Business Debt, so we should take a chunk out of that in July!
