Cheap Date #8 - Mini Golf
- Posted by JvW on June 24th, 2009 filed in Cheap Date
I try to find fun, interesting dates to go on with my husband that cost less than $20 for both of us. Not all our dates qualify, but we try to make at least half of our dates cheap dates that don’t break the bank.
Last weekend, my husband and I went to an engagement party for his cousin in New Jersey. We stayed over Saturday night and planned to go to the beach on Sunday, but were thwarted by cloudy weather. We ended up on the boardwalk instead.
Now, the boardwalk in NJ has a lot of things to do, but most of them involve food or are expensive. Most of the boardwalk consists of carnival games and rides, with plenty of shops and restaurants thrown in. Since we had just spent the night in an overpriced hotel, we weren’t interested in doleing out a lot of dough.
We went to check out the rooftop mini golf course and decided to play a round. It only cost $6 per person for 25 holes. While all mini golf is cheap, this was the best deal I’ve ever seen. The game took so long that the sun came out!
We had so much fun, just being goofy and playing mini golf. The place was pretty empty, so we took our time. Although we kept score, we didn’t really care who won - it was all just fun. I highly recommend playing as a way to get out & enjoy some good weather without spending a lot of money.

We just took our son mini-golfing…but it ended up costing us almost $50 between the pizza, golfing and ice cream afterward. The mini-golfing was only $6.00 a piece but only for 18 holes. You definitely got a deal!
